Purchasing a brand new set of golf irons can be a big deal. It is a major purchase as far as your golfing gear goes. The irons are by far the most used clubs in golf. They are utilized for a lot more shots and larger variety of shots than any of your other golf clubs. You use them from the tee box, the fairway, the rough, the sand bunkers, the edge of the green, even on the green sometimes, and out of the water. They are an important part of your game.

You see, when all your clubs are stashed in the golf bag, they rattle around and bump into one another. Eventually minor dings and nicks will appear on the shaft and head of your clubs. These minor imperfections will drop the level of your game slightly -- or maybe even noticeably. These will also wear out your gear faster forcing you to purchase a new set of clubs.

Simply putting old socks over your clubs may seem like a cheaper alternative than purchasing covers. But in reality, it's not the best way to care for your golf clubs. You will want neoprene covers. Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that is specially designed to withstand the elements. Make sure the covers have a snug fit around the clubs. If the fit is too loose, it will allow moisture to gather which is bad for your clubs.
